crikey! havaianas x House of Darwin has landed

We've teamed up with Australian fashion and lifestyle label House of Darwin to bring you a new style inspired by the Northern Territory! Our classic top thongs have received the House of Darwin touch, featuring a playful print of local NT flora and fauna. Think crocs, dingoes, barramundi and more!

Established in 2020 by Shaun Edwards, House of Darwin is both a brand and a social enterprise. Based in Darwin, their work is centred around helping local indigenous communities. Not only are all their profits reinvested into social programs in remote indigenous communities, but they are also 100% indigenous owned. Last year they launched Hoop of Dreams in the NT, collaborating with local kids to refurbish basketball courts and paint murals.

Creativity is House of Darwin’s storytelling medium, with the aim of educating Aussies about indigenous Australia through the arts. Through its streetwear, House of Darwin tells stories of the NT, often from Shaun’s personal experiences. Initially inspired by exploring his own backyard in Darwin, Shaun would often get into his Land Cruiser and visit local remote indigenous communities to run football clinics. He would take photos and videos to use as inspiration, which were then developed into streetwear motifs by illustrator Luna Tunes (Liam Milner). His prints also draw inspiration from raw experiences within the NT, from mud crabbing to exploring the outback.

Shaun created House of Darwin to inspire, educate and cultivate change through the support of local indigenous communities. The label also aims to advocate for the Northern Territory, getting it on the map worldwide.
