One of the questions we get asked most is “how should my havaianas fit”. The answer is this: it’s completely up to personal preference. That being said, there are several sizing tips that can help you when finding your perfect pair.
1. Convert your size to Brazilian sizing
Havaianas are based on the Brazilian shoe sizing system and are crafted true to size. Be sure to check out our size guide to convert your shoe size from other regions sizing.
2. Measure your foot
You can also use your foot measurement to find your size. To measure your foot, we recommend that you take the measurement diagonally from the top of your big toe to the bottom of your heel. These measurements are included in centimetres in our size guide.
3. Decide how you want them to fit
You’ll notice most of our thongs have two numbers in the size e.g. 37/38. If you are the larger size (38) and opt for this size, your thongs will have a more snug fit where your heel reaches the back of the sole. If you prefer a looser fit, opt for the size above.
One thing to keep in mind, particularly if you opt for a tighter fit, is that havaianas don’t stretch.
4. Make sure you check the size guide for the appropriate style
Havaianas sizing may vary slightly between styles and collections; make sure you refer to the correct chart when viewing our size guide. For example, our new kids clogs collection have their own size chart as they run a little bigger than classic kids thongs.
At the end of the day you know what feels most comfortable. There’s no one right way to wear havaianas – you do you!
